Case Notes
Twelve months out from surgery, you're looking at the result of Dr. Abraham Pathak's L.E. C.O.R.S.E.T. Abdominoplasty combined with umbilical hernia repair in a 65-year-old female patient. The L.E. C.O.R.S.E.T. technique addresses the abdominal wall in layers, tightening the underlying musculature while removing excess skin and tissue from the abdomen. The patient had a large diastasis (>10cm) as well as a small umbilical hernia repair which was performed concurrently, correcting the hernia at the same operative sitting rather than requiring a separate procedure. The after photo, taken at the twelve-month mark, shows a flat abdominal profile with the core reconstitution and a natural looking belly button. The low horizontal scar sits at the bikini line. This case involves two multiple surgical goals addressed in a single operation to provide not only an aesthetic but also a functional improvement.
